Advocates who "Anticipate the Dream" Spiritual Prespective

Advocates are exceptional humbled individuals who are visionary, creative, unselfishly great humanitarians, and passionate leaders that "Anticipate the Dream". An advocate's heart is a blueprint of their purpose and their words produce an eloquent oratory that uplifts rhetorical burdens. They are "risk takers" motivated by their passion; catalyst in serving their community, outcast, culturally sensitive, and influenced by their courage to overcome any impossibilities even though it's overshadowed by darkness... "Through the operation of faith, their dream is preserved". Weapons used to defer dreams are economic deprivation, obstacles, uncertainty, injustice, lost lives, and beating, truths are abused by systematic corruption. Matters of justice lost in red tape and bureaucracy, laws perverted with bribes and trickery; advocates "expect their dream to come "alive" without verification or proof or tentative grounds, yet, they still "Anticipate the Dream." Regardless of the opposition's objections, fabrication, or distorted views, they are unsuccessful to disrupt the advocate's divine destiny or envisage. Neither money nor wealth can disrupt the advocate's journey; their integrity is priceless, official duties aren't "for sale" and their providence can't be brought. Most of all, true advocates are realists, confident, flexible change promoters, love others and are certainly not politically correct.

To "Anticipate the Dream" is to expend in advance of actual possession; to have the belief in something or regard as true beyond any doubt...to know that the dream is at the edge of its manifestation. Advocates have a journey to accomplish a "deity", a power that is greater than an ordinary human and protected by a supernatural power to carry out the mission. Advocates exist for a purpose on this earth and are posthumously appointed to achieve their purpose in their lifetime and legacy afterward. Advocates' characteristics are capitalized on love, equality, justice, and fairness (while their uniqueness is misunderstood and sometimes not accepted); their giftedness is the primary objective and is negatively targeted. Advocates endorse the non-violence philosophy and inherit a "self-control quality" to adjust to an emotional provocation when there is a demand for violent retribution.

                                                                                                         Jesus

Jesus from Nazareth the "ultimate advocate," was the center of God's divine purpose, he was crucified and it wasn't the end because the "Word" couldn't be defeated by death. Jesus demonstrated the hallmark standards of peace, love, righteousness, justice, and to bring unity to a fallen corrupt world. He teaches us to be partakers of divine nature with the attitudes of divine temperance, patience, discipline, and purity .... his divine qualities are modeled by many who " Anticipate the Dream". Mahatma Gandhi, an advocate who was inspired and modeled the teachings of Jesus, in particular the emphasis of love for everyone, even one's enemies, and the need to strive for justice. Elements of Gandhi's philosophy and civil disobedience were applied to the non-violent principles called "satyagraha" that influence the political change in India and elsewhere. Martin Luther King, Jr., a minister who followed the ethics of Jesus and was influenced by Gandhi's civil disobedience principles on social reform. His divine leadership led this country through the civil rights movement with controlled equanimity against violence, fear, and intimidation. He was murdered but death couldn't cease the power of his destiny, his dreams live on and continue to... "Anticipate the Dream".
                                                                                   Martin Luther King, Jr.

To "Anticipate the Dream" requires wisdom, moral self-discipline, and nature. Historically, several popular advocate philosophers attributed divine theories and dialogues that impacted the social and political environment. Socrates, a great philosopher, a master of cross-examination and irony, believed that divine inner voices come from God to improve one's soul by obedience and morality, the universe is guided by God. Plato, who studied under Socrates believed that philosophy solves social problems, laws, and injustice. Aristotle mentored under Plato, believed that pathos, ethos, and logos are the three elements that reinforce effective communication. Under Aristotle rhetoric, an advocate can be a successful orator to connect with the audience, win elections through persuasive appeals, (U.S. Presidents supersede this concept) and Locke believed that every citizen possesses inalienable rights, life, liberty, and property this philosophy later contributed to the creation of the Declaration of Independence. Socrates and Aristotle were charged with impiety because of their philosophical teachings, Socrates was executed and Aristotle went into exile.

                                                                                            Mahatma Gandhi
We (all) admire advocates who unselfishly sacrifice their lives to "Anticipate the Dream", it's something that we aren't willing to do for ourselves or anyone however, we are the recipients that benefited from the advocate's dream. We can only imagine what an advocate experience from those who specialize in deceit, deception, and masquerading as a  person with integrity. The climate of intimidation and repression; many failures, setbacks, false friends, backstabbers, opportunists, harassment, some achievements, and great victories; some advocates died before their dream materialized. It's the belief that an advocate is guided by providence to sustain them while remaining vigilant and focused to reshape the world.

Eccl. 5: 8
If you see the oppression of the poor and the violent perversion of justice and righteousness in a province; don't be marvel at the matter for high official watches over high official and higher officials are over them.

Martha Perez - General Political Activist/ Civil Servant Portland Oregon

I have to share this letter written by a woman I had slightly met over the internet. I am involved with a National Tenant Group and had the pleasure to be in her environment.

I write from beautiful Portland, Oregan, where I have been a non-violent, pro-peace online (social media) general political activist and civil servant for well over 20 years. I do it, because I CAN. I happily resident in a one-bedroom condo. courtesy of the Section 8 program, among some of our town's most wealthiest, many benefit from business tax credits, subsidies, and the like ( more on the this later) I am a survivor, And I feel your pain, friend.

Yes, I recall when life was sweeter, prior to 911, the now then year war waging in the middle east, hurricane Katrina/ Rita, the great recession of 2008, along with personal grief and loss of so many loved ones. I refuse to resign myself to force to do more with less and this distinction is going to be very important, in the years to come. I think those who work hard everyday, to keep society running need to focus on their jobs and not on the money.

My "job" is to detect inequalities in the system, and then report my findings to the various individuals. elected officials, organizations, government agencies, activist networks, assorted news media, and all other interested parties. I then get mysteriously fired for whistle blowing and then after I've exposed the truth, I miraculously win my unemployment claim. This is not an easy life to lead, but, yes, I sleep very well at night, after a long day of work.

I have written thousands of letters, on a wide range of important issues that impact all of us (environment justice, housing, poverty, transportation, education, immigration, clean water/food, civil rights, healthcare, etc)  and I am pleased to report, that my voice is starting to be heard in the arenas of education, healthcare, and fair taxation. I have experienced setbacks, and numerous small victories, I believe in the idea of synergy the possibilities of what can happen, when diverse circles of influences, meet together, to create a "apex" of true change shifting, etc.....

My response to those who would dare to push me aside, is this: to where do you pre-suppose I move to? There is no where else I can go, therefore, I shall remain. I shall not be moved, so better get used to my being here, until I pretty much die. You see, we in the activist community, have our own tricks of the trade, but prefer to use the word toolkit. We have a rich history of community organizing , mobilizing, and educating informing. We also employ a wide range of strategies, in our evolving and organic toolkit- for change. We deploy hope, to those who have none. It matters!

The next time someone appears to be harming you, ask them this question: how much were you paid and by whom? If I were to double your pay, and turn it around, against those parties, who would intend to do this to me and my family, certain injuries, or offenses, and then see the look on their faces, when you do this. I no longer harbor the burden of fear of retaliation, With so much happening, we no longer have the luxury of time, to even dwell on these concerns.

At this point of the game, I am more concerned about whether or not my activism, will be of benefit to the millions in this country, and around this planet, who may now lack access to the basics: clean food and water, safe and affordable housing, equitable healthcare, decent family wage jobs with benefits,  a well rounded education that actually teaches real skills for living, a world class public transportation system, et al, all of the things, that make for a truly sustainable living world community. This all the motivation I need, to wake up everyday, and serve.

I do not wish to become a dead martyr, as I am more effective, if I can continue to speak out for a long time, about the injustices that I see around me. I can be killed, but not the ideas, whatsoever. As the people continue to wake up, from the consumer -induced comas, I would like to think, that I am one of many, who helped to make this a reality. My activism, is informed, in part, by: listening to folks. such as yourself, tons of reading and research, detection, writing, and speaking out, whenever possible. Learning to recognize the language of fear and resignation, is only something that I have recently begun to realize, so I continue to accelerate my growth in other ways.

It is a scary world in which we live, but also filled with unrecognized rich opportunities.

Gratefully,

Martha Perez
